This morning (19 September) at around 10:00 a Honda Ballade collided with the rear end of a cargo truck while travelling on Edendale road in Eastliegh.
The Matrix Road Safety Association vehicle arrived on the scene to assist. Terence Teixeira from the Matrix Road Safety Association reported that the two elderly occupants in the Honda sustained moderate to serious injuries. “One of the passengerss sustained a possible c-spine injury. The jaws of life were used to cut some of the vehicle away to safely extricate the patient,” he says. Both the driver and passenger were transported to hospital in a stable condition.
The cause of the accident is unclear at present and the Ekurhuleni Metro Police were on scene investigating the matter.
