On 21 January 2013 at approximately 15h30, along the N12 East just before the Kraft Rd exit, it is alleged that a double-cab bakkie pulling an overloaded trailer suddenly lost control. The vehicle jack knifed and rolled onto its side, reported Ashley Treurnich, Matrix Road Safety Association spokesman. Luckily no other vehicles were involved.
Out of the four occupants in the vehicle, luckily only two were injured. Paramedics from Emer-G-Med arrived on scene and treated the patients for light to moderate injuries. Patients were then transported to nearby hospitals, said Treurnich.
Treurnich advises that weight restrictions should be strictly adhered to when transporting goods to prevent unnecessary accidents like this one, from occurring.
