It is a well-known fact that South Africans are amongst the most passionate sport fans. Supporters often show their dedication to their favorite teams by embarking on a thousand kilometer journey to watch a game live. They will not think twice about leaving in the early hours of the morning to ensure that not a single second of the game is missed.

For many South Africans, cricket is such a sport. It is the game taught to children from an early age and it’s the game played in the backyard, the front yard, the park, a school, the nets, on concrete, matting, synthetic and for a lucky few, actual turf.

In August, Matrix announced its commitment to a one year sponsorship of the bizhub Highveld Lions. The domestic cricket season kicks off in September and the Matrix logo will be seen on the bizhub Highveld Lions playing shirts.

Matrix joins all South Africans supporting their local sport talent by adding value not only to the team, but also to the fans that loyally support them.

Win a Ride Home in Style

Matrix celebrated the month of June by introducing Matrix Win a Ride Home in Style, a four-part competition aimed at awarding Matrix subscribers the chance to win a stylish ride home. Subscribers stand the chance to win one of four luxury rides, by simply downloading the Matrix app and telling us about their experience with the app.

The first lucky winner of the Matrix Win a Ride Home in Style is Jan Kruger and his wife, Lee-Ann. Together with their two children, the Kruger family enjoyed a luxury limo ride where they were treated to delicious refreshments and on-board entertainment on their journey. The Kruger’s were collected from White River, Mpumalanga and driven to their home in Nelspruit.

Upon arrival, when asked what their favourite part of the ride was, Jan replied, “The stunned looks on my kids’ faces when they saw the limo approaching and ofcourse when they climbed into the limo – all the lights and luxuries. As for me, I enjoyed the roaring of the V8 engine and the high tech interior.” “We certainly felt like celebrities cruising through town,” adds Lee-Ann.

“If there was a choice between the ride home or money, most people will choose the money. But the experience was worth so much more and will be a lifetime memory for my family and I,” concludes Jan.
